I think it is a lot less fun now that everyone can have a quartz watches that the old-fashioned mechanical chronometer with jewelled Swiss movements that you had to take care not to drop, get wet, or overwind are so seldom seen any more. Trying to imagine how tiny those jewels had to be to get thirteen of them inside a wristwatch was an exercise in visualization you don’t get too often nowadays.
