Quartz wristwatch model: 13 Jewels

I think it is a lot less fun now that everyone can have a quartz watches that the old-fashioned mechanical chronometer with jewelled Swiss movements that you had to take care not to drop, get wet, or overwind are so seldom seen any more. Trying to imagine how tiny those jewels had to be to get thirteen of them inside a wristwatch was an exercise in visualization you don’t get too often nowadays.

In some far distant time, perhaps, when people want to learn about the hardships and tribulations of the past, they may wish to dip into a book about the great forgotten pioneers of our time.

I am not sure that Lives of the Great Tweeps passes the suspension of disbelief test, however.
